A cultural icon, made famous in the movie "top gun"i feel the need, the need for speed !!!!! How i came by this bike:in 1994 an aeronautical engineer from embry riddle university in daytona beach fl took a job overseas. Along with his other possessions, he put his 1985 ninja into storage. This poor soul passed away leaving everything he owned in that storage unit. I purchased that storage unit an auction late last year. Imagine my surprise when i came across this legendary motorcycle. The bike was drained of all fluids and wrapped when it was put into storage in 1994. 22 years later, the plastic wrap was brittle but still intact and i had so much fun unwrapping this time capsule! After obtaining a clear title, i took this bike to cornerstone cycles in rockledge, fl for restoration. Good luck finding this bike elsewhere with less than 30,000! Vin # : jkazx2a1xfb512099clean and clear fl titlestrong motor, scary fast. Other than the parts listed above, a corbin seat and an aftermarket vance and hines exaust, everything is original! Even the factory leather tank and fairing covers are original and in good shape! The original factory exaust, dual mufflers and factory fairing and tank covers are included with this bike!!! All lights and switches workingphysical condition is well above average, i can send additional pictures upon request. Other than the tank, this bike is in exceptional condition! 32 years old and only 10,700 miles! A few minor issues: at present the tacometer and fuel gauge are not functioning. I did not replace as i did not want to remove the original instrument cluster which includes the working odometer. The handlebar grips are beginning to harden. (but not falling apart) the paint on the tank has begun to orange peel from being under the leather cover for 25 years. The fairing paint is mint. There are 2 small dents on the tank, one from being pinched by the right side handlebar, the other is on the right topside midway - see pictures. The bike is available for viewing and a test ride by appointment tu-sa 10-4. Factory specs according to wiki:.
